Brighton Dale Golf Course was
a 27 hole golf course owned and operated by the Kenosha County Parks
Department. The existing golf course operated as three distinct nine hole
courses. The David Gill Corporation was retained to prepare a Master
Development Plan for an eighteen hole addition. The expanded and improved
facility would play as two eighteen hole courses, with a separate nine
hole course, and become the largest publicly owned golf facility in
Wisconsin.
The 45 hole Master Plan required
integration of new holes and existing holes into each of the eighteen
hole courses. The new Par 72 eighteen hole East Course can play from 5735
yards from the forward tees to more than 7000 yards from the back tees.
The new West Course also plays as a par 72. The 6700 yard plus (from the
back tees) layout traverses rolling terrain covered with a mixture of
pine plantation, oak savannah, and open grassland meadows.
Mr. Halberg has served as project
manager on the Brighton Dale Golf Course project since July 1990. During
his tenure as project manager, Mr. Halberg was responsible for detailed
design development; contract document preparation; contract
administration; and site observation and inspection.
The first nine holes of the new
golf course opened for play in August 1992 with the second nine opening
with the new golf season in 1993.
