WINCHESTER, ILLINOISThe Plum Creek Golf Course is a 9-hole public golf course and driving range developed by the Great Scott Golf Company, of Winchester, Illinois.
David Gill/Steven Halberg Limited working as a team member with an engineering firm designed the golf course and driving range located along the Central Illinois Expressway [CIE] approximately 12 miles west of Jacksonville, Illinois.
This 9-hole golf course is designed with multiple teeing areas to balance the challenge and golfing experience for all skill levels while still challenging the low handicap players.
The topography is rolling, with a pond coming into play of the 4th hole in a risk/reward carry. Plum Creek meanders through the 9th hole placing a premium on shot location for an approach to a slightly uphill green.
The fairways are irrigated bluegrass, while the greens are fairly large and gently rolling. There are few sand bunkers, but they are strategically placed to define targets and penalize a wayward shot.
